Riddle #1: Seconds Count

A recent blog, The Man Who Stopped Time, discussed the intriguing notion that an instant of time does not exist and can not exist for a dynamic object and that time does not flow, so time-travel is impossible. What we really want when we think time-travel is a way to reverse an order of events.

But an interval of time does exist and can be measured.

So, how many seconds are there in a calendar year?

365 x 24 x 60 x 60 = 31,536,000 seconds in 365 days, true. But the answer is 12!

If you find this answer hard to fathom, it should become clear on 2nd February...
